Navigating with a Garmin Watch.

Spring has finally arrived on the Norwegian West Coast. And I’m taking full advantage of it. I use my Garmin Fenix 5x to navigate the trails. This is not a luxury; some route markings can be easily missed. Navigating on your phone works well. But I prefer having the route on my watch as well. Not only do I then have a backup, but I will also be notified as soon as I get too far off the trail.

The Norwegian hikes are available on UT.no. Most of the routes have a GPX download available. By downloading this on your phone, you can add it directly to your courses in Garmin Connect.

After saving, synchronise your watch to the Connect App. Then, select your activity and scroll to navigate -> courses. There your course should be available, remember that the routes are not sorted, so maybe some scrolling is necessary.

God Tur!
